I think most people have heard various rumors about Masonic treasure. There have been plenty of books, movies and television, both fiction and purported non-fiction, written about the idea. However, I wanted to share with you a true treasure of Masonry which I had the honor to receive last night.
Some backstory, I've met many Freemasons on the Internet; many of them through the Freemasonry Discord server which I spent many hours on between late 2020 and late 2021 while I was in the process of petitioning to join my Lodge. Unfortunately, a mistake for which I accept full responsibility caused me to be forced to sever ties with the server itself but I still maintain contact with several of the Brothers I met there.
One of these Brothers, a Mason who lives in Estonia, took it upon himself to send a letter to my Lodge when he found out I was being raised (receiving the third and final degree of Craft Masonry). The following is that letter, which was presented to me last night.
Suffice it to say I could not believe how kind his words were and I was left speechless by the experience. I would not know this man or any of the men in that room last night if it wasn't for Masonry, nor they me, but through our shared experience and common goals we are more than friends, we are brothers. Though I have a post coming that digs into the "treasure" and "secrets" of Masonry as I see them, it seems like this example of Masonic treasure was more than worthy of its own post.
May we all be so lucky to find this kind of love in our lives. So mote it be.
